How a kit is actually made

AI does the drafting, which is what makes a kit written for one child affordable. The judgement stays human. Five things happen to every kit, in order:

  • The topic's objectives are verified against the official curriculum framework document — codes are checked, never recalled from memory.
  • We build a scenario from your child's answers — using numbers and data from real-world sources — and a person approves the concept before a single page is written.
  • We write and typeset the kit: worked examples first, practice that steps up gradually, everything self-checkable.
  • A stress-test read attempts the kit without the answers, the way a child would, to find every place a reader could stumble.
  • An editorial pass reviews every rendered page — content, layout, and whether the answers actually match the questions — and we ship the kit only when that review is clean.

How is this different from a worksheet pack — or from asking ChatGPT?

Our kits differ in three ways. Every kit is written for one named child, from their own answers, not for a year group. Every objective code is verified against the official curriculum framework, not generated from memory. And a person reviews the finished kit page by page before it ships. The samples show the standard that review enforces — compare them with what a chatbot gives you and judge for yourself.

What exactly do I get for the money?

A printable PDF of 10–26 pages; the length follows your child's profile, not a fixed template. It contains the teaching itself (not just questions), practice that steps up from guided to independent, a mixed exam-style set, answer pages your child can check alone, and a mark scheme for you with the working shown.

How long until the kit arrives?

Within three days of your questionnaire, by email, usually sooner. Later kits are faster because the profile already exists — the 2-minute top-up is all we need.

How do I pay?

Right after you send the questionnaire, on the same page. Any credit or debit card is accepted — you do not need a PayPal account, even though PayPal processes the payment. The kit is built once payment is in, and no card details are ever stored by us.

Is my child supposed to work through it alone?

Yes — that is the design constraint the whole kit is built around. Every method is taught before it's tested, quick checks can be verified on the spot, and the answer pages show the working so a wrong answer points to the step that slipped. An adult nearby is welcome but never required.

What if I'm rusty in the subject myself?

The questionnaire asks who will be involved when your child works. If the honest answer is "an adult who is rusty in this subject," we lean harder on answers the child can check alone and on mark-scheme notes that explain, not just state.

Does an adult ever need to mark anything?

Almost everything is self-checkable — quick checks carry their answer on the page, and the full answer set shows the working. A few questions can't work that way: ones marked on the quality of an explanation, not a single right word or number, genuinely need a second pair of eyes. When a kit has these, it says so directly on the page and points to the exact mark scheme page with model answers — no subject expertise required, just five minutes reading what your child wrote against what the mark scheme says a good answer includes.

Do you cover our exam board and textbook?

Any board — Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA, OCR and others; kits are built to order against whichever official framework your child follows. If you name your textbook, the kit maps to its structure so practice lines up with the chapter your child is in. We never copy from the textbook: every question is original, written against the syllabus itself.

What happens to what we tell you about our child?

Your answers are used to build your child's kits, and for nothing else. We never share or sell them, there is no account or login to breach, and if you ask us to delete your family's details we do.

What if the kit misses my child's level?

Tell us what was off — too easy, too hard, too much reading, wrong emphasis — and we rebuild it once, free. That feedback also tunes every kit after it, which is the point of the 2-minute check-in we send with each kit.

Is this "learning styles"?

No. The visual/auditory/kinaesthetic theory doesn't hold up in research, and we don't use it. What we personalise is defensible: your child's actual gaps and level, the amount of scaffolding, the question formats they'll willingly do, the tone, and the real-world context the maths or science lives in. Exam-required formats always stay in — the kit practises what the real paper will ask.

What's the evidence behind how a kit is built?

A few design choices, each grounded in established research rather than house style. A child who finds the context personally interesting engages with the same material for longer — the basis for building every kit around what your child told us they're into. Every worked example comes before the matching practice question, not after — the "worked-example effect," well documented in cognitive-load research, showing that seeing a full solution first frees attention for the new idea instead of the search for a method. Every quick check sits close to what it's testing and shows its answer immediately, because retrieval with fast feedback strengthens memory more than re-reading does. And the kit itself is set in a plain, unfussy sans-serif typeface with generous line spacing and one idea to a page — ordinary typographic practice for keeping a developing reader's attention on the content, not the page.

Which subjects and ages?

Mathematics, English and Science for lower secondary (roughly ages 11–14), and Physics at IGCSE level and above (ages 14–16). One profile covers one child in one subject; a second subject is a second 5-minute questionnaire.

How do later kits work?

Each kit comes with a 2-minute check-in about how it went — what your child finished, where they got stuck, what they said about it. The next kit is dialled from that, not just from the original questionnaire, so the fit improves kit by kit. Ordering the next one is the 2-minute top-up.
